Alexander Seifalian, Professor of Nanotechnology and Regenerative Medicine worked at the Royal Free Hospital and University College London for over 26 years, during this time he spent a period of time at Harvard Medical School looking at caused of cardiovascular diseases and a year at Johns Hopkins Medical School looking at treatment of liver. He published more than 647 peer-reviewed research papers, and registered 14 UK and International patents. He is currently CEO of NanoRegMed Ltd, working on the commercialisation of his research. During his career Prof Seifalian has led and managed many large projects with successful outcomes in terms of commercialisation and translation to patients. In 2007 he was awarded the top prize in the field for the development of nanomaterials and technologies for cardiovascular implants by Medical Future Innovation, and in 2009 he received a Business Innovation Award from UK Trade & Investment (UKTI). He was the European Life Science Awards’ Winner of Most Innovative New Product 2012 for the “synthetic trachea”. Prof Seifalian won the Nanosmat Prize in 2013 and in 2016 he received the Distinguish Research Award in recognition of his outstanding work in regenerative medicine from Heals Healthy Life Extension Society. His achievements include development of the world first synthetic trachea, lacrimal drainage conduit, and vascular bypass graft using nanocomposite materials, bioactive molecules and stem cell technology. He has over 15,000 media report from his achievement, include BBC, ITV, WSJ, CNN, and many more. Currently he is working on development and commercialisation of human organs using graphene based nanocomposite materials and stem cells technology.

Dr. Lakshmi Prasanna Kolluru is currently working as Sr. Formulation Scientist at Medefil, Inc, a generic pharmaceutical company in USA. She is responsible for leading product development project teams all the way from kick-off to product approval. Prior to joining Medefil, Dr. Kolluru served in formulation, analytical and clinical development groups across brand pharma, generic pharma and contract research organizations. She graduated with a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Mercer University, Atlanta, GA. Her thesis research focusing on development of novel targeted drug delivery system for tumor theragnosis has been recognized internationally by American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) for excellence in graduate research. In addition to her active research, Dr. Kolluru serves as an editorial board member and peer-reviewer for several international journals. She is also routinely invited to serve as a speaker and moderator for international conferences on pharmaceutical nanotechnology, formulation development and drug delivery.

Mohamad Abadelah has completed his degree in Pharmacy before joining the University of Huddersfield in 2011 to study for a Master degree in the pharmaceutics and pharmaceutical analysis. After completing his master degree with distinction and awarded the Queen Elizabeth II diamond Jubilee Prize for his outstanding achievement, he decided to pursue his Ph.D. in the inhalation field under the supervision of both Prof Henry Chrystyn and Dr El Hassane Larhrib. His work focuses on dose emission aerodynamic characteristic from dry powder inhalers (DPIs) and evaluation of the performance of some commercially available DPIs using both In-vitro and ex-vivo methodologies. He has presented his research nationally and internationally at different conferences including UK Pharm.Sci, AAPS, DDL, PDDS and ERS. Mohamad is also involved in teaching and supervision of undergraduate and MSc research projects in the pulmonary drug delivery. In December 2017, He has been awarded his PhD in pharmaceutical science from the University of Huddersfield following his excellent research on the characterization of inhaler devices performance for asthma and COPD patients.

Panchal is an innovator, entrepreneurial, and savvy business professional with a strong background and experience in the area of medical device development including but not limited to disposable, implantable, surgical, drug delivery devices.he is the founder and president of Leonine Technologies Inc.

He is an inventor of acœmultivariate shrinkage sensor (MVSS)technology and currently pursuing the commercial development of MVSS technology under the National Science Foundation (NSF) small business innovation research (SBIR) grant program.

Paresh Vadgama has over 12 years of R&D experience of in the areas of liquid and lyophilized drug product development (vials, PFS and cartridges) for a spectrum of Biologicals (insulin(s), peptides, PEGylated proteins, mAbs, fusion proteins & bi-specific Abs). In his current role as the Formulation and Drug product development lead at AC Immune SA, Switzerland, he is responsible for CMC development of AC Immune’s NBE and NCE portfolios. Paresh has worked previously with several biotech/pharma companies across Asia and Europe such as Glenmark, Biocon (India & Malaysia), Lupin and Intas. He has overseen early to late-stage drug product development of multiple biosimilar and NBE programs spread across PoC to Phase 1, 2, and 3. He holds a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences with specialization in Drug Delivery from the prestigious Institute of Chemical Technology, India. His research interest includes high protein concentration formulation development, lyophilization cycle design and development, use of Quality by Design (QbD) concepts in process designing including CFD supported fill-finish operations and drug delivery device development for personalized medicines.

Sunil Kumar Panda, PhD, is currently serving as Director of Research & Development at Menovo Pharmaceuticals (Shanghai stock exchange enlisted company) in the People’s Republic of China. He has rich research work experience in formulation and development with top Indian pharmaceutical companies such as Zydus Cadila Healthcare, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Jubilant, and Unichem Laboratories limited. He is an academic consultant to the Government College of Engineering and Technology, Bhubaneswar, India. With 14 years of research experience in India and abroad, he has received many international grants for pursuing his research. He is listed as a foreign research expert in the People’s Republic of China.

His professional research work has focused on complex formulation, and in particular, he has looked at multi-unit particle systems (MUPS), extended release dosage forms, and Nano suspension. He holds a World Intellectual Property Organization patent on delayed-release suspension and has published several international papers in peer-reviewed journals. His current research work involves 505 b (2) and Para IV invalidation for products in the USA market.

Professor Salom’s strong background in both public and private health has given her a vast depth of experience working with all levels of government. With more than 25 years in health as an academic, pathologist, researcher and health manager around Australia, she has spent the previous three years as Monash University’s Director of Pathology. Ruth was responsible for the formation of the single state pathology service by bringing together more than 1800 staff across 17 hospitals. Ruth was also responsible for the major research initiatives including the formation of the Centre of Cancer Biology. Dr. Claudia Clavijo is an anesthesiologist practicing in Aurora, CO. Dr. Clavijo ensures the safety of patients who are about to undergo surgery. Anestesiologists specialize in general anesthesia, which will (put the patient to sleep), sedation, which will calm the patient or make him or her unaware of the situation, and regional anesthesia, which just numbs a specific part of the body. As an anesthesiologist, Dr. Clavijo also might help manage pain after an operation.

My research interests are mainly focused on the development of analytical methods for the quantification of anesthesia related medication and their metabolites and on the development of low volume sampling techniques as dried blood spots to quantify this compounds.

Anthony Pettigrew,serves as Vice President of Pharmaceutical Development at Novaliq GmbH. He is a highly experienced chemist and manager, with over 15 years of pharmaceutical experience. Initially, he joined Novaliq GmbH in 2012 as Chief Protein Chemist; however in 2013, he was promoted to Director of New Products.Prior to joining Novaliq, he had built up a solid background in the biotech field as his previous experience included leadership positions in the Biopharma Application Development group at Novozymes Biopharma A/S DK and within Analytical Development/Quality Control at Veloxis A/S DK. Heather Sheardown is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering with a cross appointment to the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine and an adjunct appointment with the School of Optometry at the University of Waterloo. She holds a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Ophthalmic Biomaterials and Drug Delivery and has published more than 140 peer reviewed papers on this subject. She is currently the Scientific Director of C20/20, an ORF funded incubator aimed at the commercialization of ophthalmic biotechnologies. Sheardown was previously the Scientific Director of the 20/20 NSERC Ophthalmic Materials Research Network which brought together 12 researchers and more than 10 companies aimed at the early stage development of novel materials based treatments for ophthalmic conditions. Sheardown is the Associate Director of Biomedical Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing (BEAM), a McMaster partnership with the Fraunhofer IZI which partners with companies for incubation and commercialization of cell based therapies, diagnostics and biomaterials. She holds 18 patents or provisional patents and is currently the Chief Scientific Officer of 20/20 Optim Eyes, a McMaster based spin out focused on developing and commercializing a micelle based technology developed in her laboratory. Professor Istvan TOTH is Chair in Biological Chemistry & Professor of Pharmacy, The University of Queensland (UQ), Brisbane, Australia; Affiliated Professorial Research Fellow and Group Leader, Institute of Molecular Biosciences, UQ. He graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Technical University, Budapest, Hungary in 1969 and was awarded his PhD in 1972 for research in Alkaloid Chemistry. In 1994 he was awarded a DSc for his work on drug delivery. Prof. Toth moved from the School of Pharmacy at the University of London to the University of Queensland in 1998, and leads a productive medicinal chemistry research group (presently 30 members). He is an elected RACI Fellow, Fellow of the Queensland Academy of Arts and Sciences and Fellow (External) of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. In 2009 he was awarded the Adrian Albert award for sustained and outstanding research in medicinal biochemistry. He has over 400 peer-reviewed publications (>500 citations/year since 2012), 44 patents, and a strong record in research commercialization.His research has attracted over $84 million in competitive grants, research contracts and investment funds in the past 10 years, including an NHMRC Program grant, which is now in its fourth successive 5-year term and a recent NHMRC Project Grant.

nfection with group A streptococci (Streptococcus pyogenes, GAS), one of the common and widespread human pathogens, can result in a broad range of diseases, with the potential of acute and post-infectious rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease. Immunity to GAS relies on the production of opsonic antibodies specific to the hypervariable N-terminal and conserved C-terminal regions of the coiled-coil α-helical M protein, the major virulent factor in GAS. The development of an effective vaccine for GAS has been challenged by the induced autoimmunity of epitopes derived from the C-terminal regions, unsuitable B-cell epitopes that have been shown to react with human heart tissue, and the minimal B-cell epitopes, which believed to be safe, shows little or no immunogenicity unless bound to a delivery platform. For vaccine delivery, self-adjuvanting lipid core peptide (LCP) and polymer coated liposome systems including antigen, carrier and adjuvant within the same molecular entity has been developed. The systems allow the attachment of multiple copies of antigens.

Yehuda Shoenfeld works at Sheba Clinical Center in Tel HaShomer and the Sackler Personnel of Medication at Tel-Aviv College. He went to Jerusalem's Hebrew University to study. He currently holds the Laura Schwarz-Kipp Chair for Autoimmune Disease Research. Two journals, Harefuah (Medicine) in Hebrew with English abstracts and Israel Medical Association Journal (IMAJ), are edited by Shoenfeld. He is a member of the editorial board for Clinical Reviews in Allergy & Immunology, co-editor-in-chief of Autoimmunity Reviews, and co-editor of the Journal of Autoimmunity. Autoimmune Syndrome Induced by Adjuvants (ASIA), which claims to be an autoimmune response to vaccine adjuvants, was proposed by Schoenfeld, who has been described as an anti-vaccinationist. There is an absence of reproducible proof for any causal connection among adjuvant and immune system condition. He was on the Children's Medical Safety Research Institute's scientific advisory board, has spoken at a number of antivaccination conferences, and has frequently testified as an expert witness for people who are trying to prove that vaccines have hurt them in court. The theory that ASIA was to blame for those injuries has been rejected by the courts thus far, as has Schoenfeld's overall credibility as a sincere witness.
